Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a clan of musicians. She grew up listening mostly to traditional music, boleros from the past, and traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana enjoys tangos, as well as opera and various dramatic styles. Ana began learning to sing and play instruments from an early age, along with her mother. She was given more formal training in singing at the age of 16 old under the famous Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later with the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. She sang throughout Guadalajara, Mexico City and other cities as a young student and professional. She was a member of the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to Southern California. She currently performs the traditional Latin American songs at private concerts as a singer. She has been involved in many local initiatives, both as performer and teacher, because of her love for music and art. Ana was also part of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is now a teacher of The Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege being able to share with others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes this can inspire younger generations to keep this traditional music in the present.
